Here we answer the questions that are asked most frequently.

Prints

Why are some images available in much larger formats than others?

The images are available in sizes that correspond to their resolution and sharpness.

The images on Gams Media were taken with different cameras and lenses. A drone camera, for example, does not have the resolution or sharpness of a high-quality full-frame mirrorless camera, and therefore images taken with a drone are generally available in smaller sizes.

How sharp are the prints?

Most prints are extremely sharp, even when viewed up close. Only the largest prints available for each image may be slightly less sharp when viewed up close. None of the available prints have a native image resolution of less than 6 dots per millimetre.

However, not all print types are equally sharp. For example, chroma prints are not as sharp as other print types, although the differences are difficult to see even from a metre away.

Are the pictures delivered ready to hang?

All prints are supplied with the necessary rails or brackets for hanging, already attached. To mount them on the wall, all you need is a couple screws or nails in the wall to hang the picture on.

The spacing of the nails or screws, does need to fairly precise for some print types, especially photo frames.

Can I buy prints of these pictures elsewhere?

No. All images are exclusive to Gams Media and can only be purchased through Gams Media.

I saw a picture in a restaurant with the Gams Media logo in the corner. Do the prints ordered here also have a logo?

No. All prints ordered on gamsmedia.at have no logos or watermarks.

Some of the prints that can be found in businesses in town, have a logo in the corner, to make it quick and easy for people to know where the print comes from.

How many print options are there per image?

When all the different sizes, finishes and frame options, are considered. For most pictures, there are around 2000 different possible configurations for each picture.

In total there are several hundred thousand possible products available on Gams Media.

Are the prints suitable for damp environments or protected outdoor areas?

Only Chroma and Forex prints are waterproof and suitable for humid environments or protected outdoor areas. However, in such environments, the prints and their hanging rails are likely to get dirty more quickly and not remain in prime condition for as long as in dry environments.

The only frame that is resistant to moisture is the Art Box frame. We do not recommend using it in humid environments and cannot guarantee its suitablility, it is not designed for such environments, and due to its shape, water can accumulate. However, if you really want a framed picture in a humid environment and are not worried about the life span of the product, a Chroma print in an Art Box frame would be the best option.

Are the prints affected by UV light?

The prints are made from high-quality materials and printing inks that are as resistant as possible to UV light. However, as with almost everything, the quality of the product will deteriorate with repeated exposure to UV light.

Howcome my print is not quite as colourful as the picture looks on my phone?

The images have been processes on a specially calibrated, colour accurate graphics display, and all print types were tested to ensure the colours produced match what was intended. Phones, and most laptops and pcs, do not display colours so accurately, which is why there can be differences.

Images

How were the pictures edited?

The human eye sees the world differently than a camera, so it is always necessary to edit images.

The images here have been adjusted in brightness, contrast and saturation to make them more appealing. By and large, however, most of the images have been edited to look as the scene was perceived in real life, with the odd exception.

Have things been removed from pictures?

Temporary structures such as cranes and construction sites were removed from the images, but for most images, care was taken not to remove any permanent objects.

Website

I am looking for pictures of a certain mountain or a certain area. How can I find them?

The best way to find images of a specific location is to filter the images on the all images page by keyword.

Alternatively, you can also use the search function.

I have found a picture that I like. How can I find other pictures of the same place?

Images have tags for the locations in the image. These tags are listed under the image description. If you click on a tag, you will be redirected to a page where all images for this tag are displayed.

Is there a price list?

No, unfortunately it is not possible to present the prices in tabular form due to the variety of products on offer and the many factors that can influence the price.

Does Gams Media use cookies?

Like all webshops, Gams Media also uses cookies to enable the website to function.
However, there are no tracking cookies that can invade your privacy.

How does Gams Media track website usage and marketing effectiveness?

Gams Media uses a cookie-free system with very high privacy settings to track website usage and conversions for marketing purposes. The system provides less data than most tracking solutions and was chosen because it allows a high level of privacy for website visitors while providing just enough data to optimise website content and marketing activities.

How come there is no cookie banner?

Gams Media does not use tracking cookies. Only cookies that are absolutely necessary for the functioning of the website are used. Therefore, no cookie banner is required.

Why does my selection sometimes change or disappear from the order panel?

Our system requires a different set of selectable options each time availability changes. For this reason, when switching between print types or options, the available sizes or options may change, with new options appearing and some selections having to be re-selected.

This occurs most often with products that are available in very large print sizes.

Why can I see reflections on prints in some of the product visualisations?

The visualisations are intended not only to show the size and shapes of different print types, but also to give an idea of what the different finishes look like in different environments. Many of the print types can have strong reflections in some environments, therefore we find it important to include this in some of the visualisations.

Orders

Which countries do you accept orders from?

Orders are accepted from countries in the EU and the European Economic Area, with the exception of regions outside mainland Europe such as the Canary Islands. A list of the countries from which orders are accepted, can be found here.

Are tax-free business orders supported?

Tax free business orders are supported, however because of the way purchases are set up, orders from Austria and Germany count as in country purchases, where the tax is refunded to businesses by the finance authority.
Business orders from other EU countries are available tax free with a valid EU tax number, which is entered in the checkout process.

Delivery

How long until my print is delivered?

It usually takes between 8 and 15 working days from order placement to delivery.

Which delivery services are used for deliveries?

Prints are delivered by DHL, DPD, UPS or TNT/FedEx.

However, we are unable to offer a choice for which delivery service will be used for an order.

Why was my print sent from Germany?

Whilst Gams Media is based in Kitzbühel, Austria. Gams Media uses the highest quality manufacturers for its products, with many of the products being produced in Germany and shipped to customers directly from the manufacturer.

What does delivery cost?

Delivery is free of charge for orders to Austria and Germany. For deliveries to other countries within the EU mainland, a flat rate of 20 euros per order is charged.

Wishlist

Can I share my wishlist with others?

Yes, there is a link at the bottom of the page that can be used to share the wishlist.

Can the people I have shared my wishlist with edit it?

No. Wishlists can only be edited on the device on which they were created.

My wishlist is gone. What has happened?

Two things could have happened:

Wish lists are saved in the browser of the device on which they were created. If browser files or cookies are deleted, the wish list will no longer appear. However, shared links will still work for a few months.

If the wish list was created more than a month ago, it may have expired.

Payment

Which payment services are available in the checkout process?

The current payment options can be found on the payment page.

Returns

Is it possible to return prints?

Due to the wide variety of images, print types, sizes and finishes, all images are printed to order. For this reason, Gams Media cannot offer or accept returns.

However, prints are guaranteed against manufacturing defects and should a faulty print somehow reach a customer, it will be replaced.

I have accidentally damaged my print, can you help me?

Please contact us and explain what has happened. We will help where we can, or organise a replacement at the best possible price.
